Yes, but every free option comes with a catch: a daily cap, a short context window, ads, or a weaker privacy policy. As of October 2026, MegaNova has the most generous free models (two of them 70B roleplay fine-tunes, with up to 550 messages a day), Venice.ai gives 10 free prompts a day from a company with one of the better privacy scores, and AI Horde and Perchance are free with no signup at all.
Free models with an API
Only two providers in our index list uncensored models at $0 per token:
| Provider | Free models | Limits | Privacy |
|---|---|---|---|
| MegaNova | Stheno v3.2 8B, Violet Lotus 12B, Nevoria 70B, Sapphira 70B, Manta Pro | 550 messages a day on the free Explorer tier; Manta Pro needs a $1 deposit | 13 / 100 |
| Mancer | MythoLite 13B | 2,560-token context window; API only | Unscored |
AI Horde is also free through its API, with 17 uncensored models when we checked. It isn’t priced per token at all, because volunteers run the hardware. More on that below.
Free chat tiers
Most free uncensored AI is a web chat with a cap. What you actually get:
| Provider | What’s free | Signup | Privacy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venice.ai | 10 text prompts a day | Account | 55 / 100 |
| MegaNova | 550 messages a day on its free models | Account | 13 / 100 |
| AI Horde | Everything; queue priority via “kudos” | None | 28 / 100 |
| Perchance | Ad-supported chat, no paid plan | None | 28 / 100 |
| NoTrack | Web chat on its one model | None | 30 / 100 |
| Dolphin | Web chat with Dolphin models | None | Unscored |
| Agnai | Guest roleplay models | None | 18 / 100 |
| RedModel | A few web chat messages on its red-teaming model | None | 18 / 100 |
| Infermatic | 300 requests a day, replies capped at 60 tokens | Account | 40 / 100 |
| NoFilterGPT | 7 messages a day | 32 / 100 | |
| HackAIGC | 6 requests a day | Account | 45 / 100 |
| Arli AI | 5 requests per model every 2 days, 12K context | Account | 33 / 100 |
| NovelAI | 50 generations, once | Account | 33 / 100 |
Some of these are trials rather than free tiers. Infermatic’s 60-token replies are enough to test the interface, not to hold a conversation. Arli’s and NovelAI’s free allowances are for trying a model before you subscribe.
Free API credit
If you want an API, these give you a little credit to start:
- NoTrack: a $0.50 trial for 7 days. At $0.15 / $0.50 per 1M tokens (input / output), that’s about 1,250 short chats.
- AionLabs: a free daily credit allowance with no card. It doesn’t state the amount.
- Electron Hub: $0.25 a week in credits plus 200 free-model requests a day, ad-supported. Its Hermes 4 and Aion-RP models need a paid plan.
- Nebius: a one-time $1 credit, with a card required.
- Uncensored.chat: a 2,000-token chat trial. Its API starts at the $69 plan.
Paying a little can beat free. NanoGPT takes top-ups from $0.10 in crypto with no account, and the cheapest models in our index cost under $0.10 per 1,000 short chats.
What free costs you
Free services are paid for somehow, and usually it’s with ads, your data, or someone else’s hardware.
- Your data. MegaNova’s privacy policy says it collects prompts and generated content, keeps them “as long as necessary”, and lists research and product improvement as purposes. FreedomGPT, which also has a free tier, says users should have “no expectation of privacy” while the service is in beta. It scores 3 / 100.
- Volunteers’ hardware. AI Horde’s workers are run by volunteers who can technically see your prompts. The project’s own FAQ advises treating every request like a post in a public forum.
- Unknown models. Perchance stores chats in your browser, but doesn’t say what model it runs. NoTrack’s privacy policy says chat messages are deleted after 30 days, while its API page says prompts aren’t stored.
Venice is the exception: its free tier comes from a named company with a no-logging policy, but the allowance is small. Our privacy scoring explains how each score is built.
We haven’t tested whether these free models actually answer everything; benchmarks are in preparation.
The other free route: run it yourself
You can also download an open-weight abliterated model from Hugging Face and run it on your own computer. There’s no per-message cost and nothing leaves your machine, but you need capable hardware, and we don’t cover local tools here.
